An absolutely adorable new adult romance

About the Author

Kaitlyn Hill is a writer, reader, and sweet tea enthusiast who believes that all the world is not, in fact, a stage, but a romance novel waiting to happen. She is the author of Love from Scratch and Not Here to Stay Friends.

Kaitlyn has a BA in Sociology/Anthropology and German Studies, which means that she can tell you way too much about the Communist Manifesto in Karl Marx’s mother tongue. Before landing on writing, she worked in roles from city government intern in a small German town to Haunted Mansion Maid at Walt Disney World, and most recently, at her hometown public library.

Aside from books, Kaitlyn’s favorite things are giraffes, ABBA, and excessively long naps. She lives with her real life romance hero in Lexington, Kentucky.

This was such a cute little cozy romance story, which was a complete 180 from the YA horror that I reviewed earlier today. Wild About You is a fun love story about two people falling for each other after being paired up for a survivor-like reality TV show. The main character, Natalie, is 19 years old and in college, so I would probably classify this as a new-adult novel. There are no sex scenes, so it’s also a clean romance.

As someone who reads all ages, there were times where I felt like certain plot lines lended themselves towards spicier scenes, but I also understand that spice while on reality TV wouldn’t really make sense. Additionally, I know that it can be difficult for readers to find spice-free romances amongst all of the popular titles that are thrown around, particularly those on TikTok, so this would be a great option for them. I’m pretty sure the other novel from Kaitlyn Hill that I’ve read (Love From Scratch) is also clean.

The book itself is very lighthearted, with most of the drama coming from miscommunications and the main character’s struggle with her anxiety disorder. The male love interest, while a bit prickly in the beginning, is a huge cinnamon roll at heart, so watching these two confront their feelings for each other was innocently heartwarming. It was a very quick read (finished in one seating) and is the perfect cozy book for you to escape to when you’re feeling the stress of the outside world.
