Review (no spoilers)

If you’d like to follow along with the rest of the tour, you can find the tour schedule here.

It’s been a while since I reviewed a children’s book, and it’s always difficult because I have no idea how to rate these types of books. I’m not a child and the books are so short and sweet that I feel like there’s not enough to rate them on.

That aside, Sir Morien is a children’s book about one of the nights of Arthur’s round table. The book has a note at the very beginning letting readers know that the story is a retelling, but that they took some artistic liberties for the sake of the plot/writing.

The plot follows Sir Morien’s journey as he tries to find his long-lost father. As he travels throughout the land, he meets two knights, Lancelot and Gawain, who decide to join him in his search as they are searching for King Arthur. Though its a very short story, the reader is privy to watching Morien and Lancelot’s rivalry take a turn for the best as they learn each other’s strengths (while keeping up some respectful banter).

If you’re a fan of Arthurian tales and want to introduce them to your child, this book would be a good place to start!
