About the Author

Kat Delacorte was eleven years old when her family moved from the United States to a small town in central Italy. She soon began writing stories about her new friends developing superpowers, and she hasn’t looked back since. She graduated with a BA in History from Columbia University, and lives in Venice, Italy.

With Fire In Their Blood is an incredible YA fantasy with so many great dystopian elements that make it unique and just an overall amazing book. If you are looking for a twisty tale full of magic secrets and LGBTQ+ representation then I can’t recommend this enough!

The world-building is fantastic. The vivid imagery and scenic descriptions instantly transport readers to a whole new world within these pages, and it was so easy to get lost in this book. There is nothing overly complicated in this world’s architecture but the imagery is enough to remind readers that this a world of it’s own.

The writing is 👌🏻, characters are well defined, and the plot is fun and just different enough to hook you in without being too wild for those who aren’t into fantasy like me.

If you’re looking for an intriguing, magical adventure then look no further. You need to pick up this amazing book. I am officially a Kat Delacorte fan and I cannot wait for more witchy goings on in the next book.

I really enjoyed this. It was such an unusual and dramatically different almost Romeo and Juliet retelling but not quite. I liked how dark this was and how much Lilly was repulsed and repelled by the town, its history and customs. I also like how quickly she became indoctrinated to this bizarre way of life. I felt Lilly was a really strong and compelling character.
